Everybody makes mistakes. We all do. I sure do. Many Mistakes, I must admit.
But some mistakes are more painful than others. Some consistent mistakes can lead to failure.
You’re probably thinking, making mistakes (even horrible ones) doesn’t always end with failure. I must agree. We’ve all met entrepreneurs that made it big even though they had ‘strange’ ways of doing things (to put it mildly).
but, we don’t tend to plan for exceptions. I could make a wish that you’ll win the lottery or return home wearing Olympic gold. Meanwhile, we need to be realistic, plan for the long road, and expect success only after endless trials and errors.
But, while doing so, we better optimize our actions and learn from the mistakes of others.
Speaking of painful mistakes, why do startup entrepreneurs keep making the same marketing mistakes? How come the entire ecosystem doesn’t help (i.e., the investors), like in training them before the money is in the bank, for instance? I have quite a few thoughts… but that’s not the subject of this discussion. For now, it is on us, startup entrepreneurs and marketers, to help each other as much as possible, and it’s up to us to learn from the mistakes of others.
